Alaska Adventure Flying in Canada
The tour will be 21 days long beginning in Cut Bank Montana and ending in Great Falls Montana.
Monday 13 June 2011:
Fly into Cut Bank Montana by 12:30 PM. We will check your credentials and review Customs forms for Canada. Then we will go over the route of flight to Alaska, survival equipment, and mountain flying techniques. The first dinner of five provided by Blue Goose Aviation will be here.
Tuesday 14 June 2011: KCTB – CYQL 64 NM Lethbridge Canada This is where we will clear customs.
CYQL – CYDQ 456 NM Dawson Creek
We will do two more flights today. The first flight is 273 miles to Edison Alberta where we will stop for fuel and a quick snack. Then we will fly 183 NM to Dawson Creek. This is where mile marker "0" of the Alaskan highway is placed. We will go out to the marker for a photo opportunity. The rest of the day is yours to explore this small town.
Wednesday 15 June 2011: CYDQ – CYYE 201 NM Fort Nelson
Today’s flight will take us to Fort Nelson, Alberta. We will be leaving the farm lands and open spaces for more trees, swamps and rugged terrain. Fort Nelson is a short drive from the airport but an interesting small town. You will have time to look around and enjoy the beauty of this remote site.
Thursday 16 June 2011: CYYE – CYXY 393 NM Whitehorse
We will cross some beautiful terrain today as we turn more
westerly during our flight. Our flight takes us to White
horse,
YT. This
is an interesting town and we will spend two nights here. We will stop for fuel
and another quick snack at Watson Lake. Be prepared for the highest priced fuel
of the trip at this stop since it is trucked in from Fort Nelson or Whitehorse.
The airport is on a lake that has great views and a beautiful picnic spot. We
will spend the night here on the way back. The afternoon will be yours to mosey
around the town of Whitehorse after arrival.

Saturday 18 June 2011: CYXY – PAOR 236 NM
It is “Back to the USA” today. Keep your cameras ready. When we arrive in Northway we must go through U.S. customs again. After we clear customs, we will continue on to Fairbanks. AK
